Ikuo Hirano, M.D.

Northwestern University School of Medicine

Dr. Hirano earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.  He is a Professor of Medicine and the Director of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship Program at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.  Dr.  Hirano has written many papers and book chapters that focus on esophageal and swallowing disorders.  He is also the Associate Editor for “Diseases of the Esophagus.
