Dr. Furuta earned his medical degree and completed his residency at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine. Dr. Furuta serves as the Director of the Gastrointestinal Eosinophilic Diseases Program (GEDP), a multidisciplinary program dedicated to providing care for children with eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases (EGIDs), including eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). His researches focuses on how eosinophils cause gastrointestinal dysfunction and has frequently published on EGIDs and EoE.
