Create Your Own Song

Special Sessions with Hear Your Song at EOS Connection 2022

Hear Your Song is a nonprofit that empowers young people with serious illnesses and complex health needs to share their stories, perspectives, and voices through collaborative songwriting. Their volunteers will lead two songwriting sessions at EOS Connection 2022 for kids ages 8-18. No prior songwriting or music experience is required!

Do you or your child want to write a song and hear it come to life? Children ages 8-18 can participate in one of these special sessions either onsite in San Diego or virtually, from anywhere!

You can write a song can be about ANYTHING you want: your favorite thing to do with your family, a challenge you have overcome, the best TV show in the world, noodles, slime, camp, the power of hope, the Periodic Table— we can’t wait to hear your song!

Create Your Own Song With “Hear Your Song”

Saturday, July 9

Session #1: Ages 8-12
9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. PT / 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. ET

Session #2: Ages 13-18

During each 60-90-minute session, with the support of Hear Your Song’s inspiring volunteers, you will write your own song lyrics and come up with ideas for the musical style, instrumentation, tempo, mood, and melody to go with them. In the weeks following your session, Hear Your Song’s volunteers will professionally record each song!

We take your child’s safety and privacy in our virtual sessions very seriously. Hear Your Song will never record the image, video, or voice of any child without the advance written permission of a guardian. Hear Your Song will only share your child’s song and words with the written permission of a guardian.

Hear Your Song’s volunteers are professional musicians/educators and undergraduate leaders at its’ campus-based chapters.

Registration and Permission

By giving permission below, you indicate that Hear Your Song may share your child’s words—and the song that’s created through the Hear Your Song collaboration—through recordings, performances, social media, and other forms of publication. Hear Your Song may also authorize others to share the song in ways that are consistent with their mission.

Hear Your Song will only use your child’s first name in sharing their words and song, unless you grant permission to share your child’s full name. Hear Your Song will never allow the song to be used commercially, although we may use the song in our nonprofit fundraising and to promote Hear Your Song and its charitable activities. Your child, of course, can share the final recording of the song in all non-commercial ways and always has the right to use their contributions to the song in any way they choose.
