Virtual Conference FAQs

The following are frequently asked questions about EOS Connection 2021, APFED’s annual patient education conference on eosinophil-associated diseases.

What is EOS Connection?
EOS Connection is APFED’s annual patient education conference on eosinophil-associated diseases. APFED has hosted this conference for 19 years now, and in 2021 our event was again completely virtual! The conference is a terrific opportunity to gather with patients and families and other members of our community to learn about eosinophil-associated diseases, gain practical management strategies, and hear research updates from experts in the field.
Why should I attend?
Throughout the years this conference has been held, thousands have come together to learn about eosinophil-associated diseases. Patients and family members gain practical tips for day-to-day living and learn the latest breakthroughs in disease research. Health care professionals enhance their understanding of these diseases and patient needs and engage with our community members.

EOS Connection 2021 will provide these same opportunities in an all-virtual environment! Attendees will learn approaches to the management of eosinophil-associated diseases, the latest research, and interact with patients, caregivers, health care professionals, and our partners. Educational sessions, Q&A opportunities, and our Virtual Networking Lounge provide the opportunity for attendees to tap into a knowledgeable, forward-thinking community for inspiration and empowerment.

Is the conference only for patients, or are health care providers encouraged to attend?
The conference is open to anyone wishing to learn more about eosinophil-associated diseases. Health care providers, allied health care professionals, and others who are interested in eosinophil-associated diseases will find the sessions and networking beneficial. CME/CEU credits are not offered.
Where can I connect with other conference attendees?
During the live event, attendees had the opportunity to visit our Networking Lounge to connect over live text chat with other conference attendees. Attendees logged in at the same time, may also connect through one-on-one live text and video chats.
Is it free to attend or is there a registration fee?
APFED members and invited guests receive complimentary admission to this event. A special discount code to waive registration fees was sent via email to all APFED members (email conference@apfed.org if you are a member and can’t find the code). If you are not an APFED member, you may join at apfed.org/apfed-personal-membership/ (free and paid levels are available) and a discount code will be provided by email. For registrants who are not APFED members, a $15 registration fee will apply.
I cannot attend any of the programming July 14-16. Will content still be accessible?
Yes. Our live events took place on Wednesday, July 14, Thursday, July 15, and Friday, July 16, from 11:30 AM – 3:45 PM ET each day. The presentations were all recorded and are now available for on-demand viewing (register or log in to view the recordings).
If more than one person in my household wants access to the event, do they need to register separately?
It depends. If more than one member of your household wants to access the event on a different device at the same time as another household member, a separate registration with a separate email address is needed to gain access. For families that intend to view sessions together, or intend to access the virtual event at different times, one registration will suffice.
