Insurance Coverage of EoE Medicine

We would like to hear from those in the United States who have had challenges with insurance coverage of an FDA-approved medication indicated to treat EoE (eosinophilic esophagitis).

If you live in the U.S. and have been prescribed one of these medications to treat EoE, we’d be grateful if you answered a few questions to help us advocate for better coverage.

2025 Medication Access Issues for EoE

Which of the following FDA-approved medications indicated to treat EoE were denied? (if both, please complete one survey for each medication)
Did your insurance company provide a reason for the denial?
If yes, what was the stated reason? (Select all that apply)
Did you or your doctor appeal the insurance denial?
If yes, what was the outcome of the appeal?
How did the denial affect your treatment plan?
Do you have a copy of the insurance company denial letter or statement (Explanation of Benefits) that APFED can use to help us advocate for coverage?
